Voice of the People, The South Bend Tribune

The public forum for mayoral candidates at the Century Center demonstrated that all candidates had viable, thoughtful answers to the questions posed. I was particularly impressed with the two candidates with less recognition in local politics, Barrett Berry and Pete Buttigieg.
Berry, a Harvard graduate who worked in the Clinton White House, stipulated a vigorous economic plan garnered from his civic experience.
Buttigieg is a Harvard grad and Rhodes Scholar, who studied economics at Oxford. His specific and precise answers were a refreshing variation from the usual vague generalities and commonplace platitudes expressed by many politicians. Having known very little about any of the candidates before the forum, I can now say that Buttigieg has an eloquent and articulate plan for South Bend going forward.
